All new Harlequin vinyl stage and dance floors should be cleaned with Harlequin Vinyl Daily Cleaner before use in order to remove any residue which takes place during the manufacturing process.

The frequency of cleaning and type of maintenance required is dependent on the frequency of use and the degree of soiling. However, daily cleaning will be more effective, and the floor will retain its performance characteristics longer, if a regular ‘deep clean’ is undertaken.

Harlequin Vinyl Daily Cleaner contains the biocide Benzalkonium Chloride which provides antibacterial properties and has been proven to be effective against most bacteria and viruses, including Human Coronavirus. It should be noted that this cleaner has not yet been tested on novel human coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2.

Daily use of Harlequin Vinyl Daily Cleaner is a good practice and will maintain the optimum performance of your Harlequin performance floor while keeping it hygienically clean, reducing the likelihood of any harmful germs, bacteria or virus accumulating on the surface of the floor. More frequent use is acceptable if required.

Always use Harlequin cleaning products to the dilution rates recommended. Improper use, or use of incorrect products, can have an adverse effect on the floor and may invalidate the guarantee. Bleach or alcohol-based cleaners, abrasive powders or creams, strong solvents such as Acetone or highly alkaline solutions should not be used as they may irreparably damage the surface. Use of such products will invalidate the guarantee.

Using a slightly damp mop, clean the floor using Bona Wood Floor Cleaner following the manufacturer’s instructions. Use as little water as possible, excess water will damage the floor.

Always dry the floor using an appropriate mop or cloth. Remove any spilled water immediately.

Light stains may be cleaned by rubbing with a damp cloth.

Cleaning Harlequin solid wood floors

Harlequin recommend the use of Bona products to seal, clean and maintain Harlequin Solid Wood Floors.

Harlequin Solid Wood Floors should be cleaned daily using dry cleaning methods, such as vacuum, scissor mop or soft broom. It is important to remove any abrasive particles of grit and dirt which may scratch the floor.

Soluble dirt should be removed using a spray-buff system or scrubber drier with diluted Bona Wood Floor Cleaner for large areas or using a lightly damped or spray mop for smaller areas. When using a buffing system, the machine should be fitted with a tan pad. A red pad can be used on floors which are very dirty. Coarser pads should be avoided as they may damage the floor seal.

Always dry the floor using an appropriate mop or cloth. Remove any spilled water immediately.
