ImPulsTanz 2025 broke attendance records, becoming the festival’s most attended year with performances and workshops across Austria.

Attracting over 200,000 visitors, ImPulsTanz 2025 reached full capacity, bringing audiences together for a celebration of dance throughout Vienna.

Founded in 1984, ImPulsTanz has grown into the world’s largest festival for contemporary dance and performance. The 2025 edition ran for five weeks from 10 July, presenting a diverse programme of performances, workshops, research projects and live music.

ImPulsTanz’s technical team requested Harlequin floors in certain areas of the festival. This included two studios in the Arsenal Workshop Center and in the rehearsal areas at the Volksoper. Additional venues featuring Harlequin floors included the large hall of the PART Praterateliers, Volkstheater, Odeon, Akademietheater, NEST and Schauspielhaus.

Selecting Harlequin Duo in various colours, Meli Posch, ImPulsTanz Head of Marketing, said: “Our technical team requested Harlequin simply because they have been using them for ages and are very, very satisfied with them. Harlequin floors are super easy to work with (rolling out, rolling up, cleaning) and they are incredibly durable! The dancers and performers are very happy with the Harlequin floors.”

The 42nd edition of ImPulsTanz presented 125 performances, attracting over 50,000 visitors to venues across Vienna. Alongside the shows, 367 dance classes took place in Salzburg, Linz, Klagenfurt and Vienna, reinforcing ImPulsTanz’s role as a seasonal hotspot for dance and movement.
